How many times have we drooled watching a movie of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, when they ate gigantic pans full of sausage and stewed beans? Maybe finishing to eat the sauce in the dish with a big piece of bread? This is what we are talking about today, a traditional and famous dish that can be prepared using our Storti sausage.
Thanks to the incomparable taste of the grilled sausage and the strong flavour of stewed beans, this dish is perfect to be prepared during holidays to warm the atmosphere and share a moment with friends and family.
The night before: it would be ideal to put the dry beans in a pot and cover them with water, leaving them there for about 10-12 hours so that they get softer and bigger.
After rinsing, let’s boil them (don’t cook them completely anyway). Prepare afterwards the olive oil in a pan and fry the onion, carrots, and celery.
Once the onion gets to a golden colour, add the tomato pulp and parsley as needed, and finally the beans, finishing their cooking in the pan with the tomato, stirring the whole from time to time.
Sausage can be of course cooked into another pan with olive oil and rosemary before being added to the tomato and the beans. However, we advise, if it’s possible, to grill the sausages (in order to enhance their taste), before serving them with the stewed beans. Try this dish also with some mash potatoes as you like.
Good appetite and happy holidays!
